Day 29 walking. Being here's what it's all about 20 May

We have arrived on the top!!! O'Cebreiro tonight and it is spectacular. Snow everywhere, bright sunshine, you can see all around. Really feels like we are on top of the world.

We loved the Pyrenees in the mist and cloud, and Cruz de Ferro in the snow and cloud, and now we have another experience. So fabulous.

Pictures tell it all. I wonder if we will wake up to fresh snow everywhere in the morning. Certainly is cold enough outside, but heaters are on in the albergue, so it is warm. Goodnight

As we walked towards O'Cebreiro, we followed the valley roads, looking in awe at the massive concrete constructions above to take the highway in an almost straight line, through tunnels and across massive concrete spans. What a massive undertaking it must have been.

Also walked past some massive trucks parked at a service station. Loads were the huge blades for windmills for wind farms. 50m long. Wow.

Notes to self
  • 20km Trabadelo to O'Cebreiro
  • Municipal Albergue 6€ each
  • Tried pulpo here. Tasty. Cooked with paprika, but a bit tough and far too much. A sharing plate would have been better.
